Hezekiah Walker and the Love Fellowship Choir – Nothing But the Hits
|
Hezekiah Walker and the Love Fellowship Choir want to make you dance. Their CD, Nothing But The Hits, is a jazzy, R&B collection of contemporary gospel music.
Walker grew up in the Fort Greene Housing projects in Brooklyn, New York, and, in his early twenties, formed his first gospel group, the Love Fellowship Crusade Choir, while serving as the minister of Love Fellowship Church. The choir’s first album, Focus on Glory, recorded in 1992, garnered popularity but their breakthrough success came the following year with their album Live in Toronto.
Walker sees every trial we face in life as followers of Christ as leading to victory. “Our trials are meant to bring us to our destined place in God; where He would have us to be.” As gospel music stems from a people who faced and overcame great trials and tribulations, it is fitting that Walker and his choir celebrate this victory through their songs of praise.
