Teen Challenge Choir Tours Alberta in April
|
By Lisa Hall-Wilson
“Drug addicts singing for God in a choir? Who’da thought? See God’s glory for sure.” That’s what Anthony, a current Teen Challenge student and choir member, says audiences can look forward to.
Each of the forty Teen Challenge choir members, less than a year ago, was strung out on drugs; some were living on the street, while others were in jail. All were hopeless.
Then they entered the one year, faith-based Teen Challenge rehabilitation program.
The transformation from drug addict to saint is evident on their faces, in the healthy glow of their skin, and in the joy they bring to each performance. These guys are absolutely convinced that God saves, and that God heals; and they are on fire to tell anyone who’ll listen about the change in themselves.
Each ninety-minute performance, safe for all ages, sees students sing and share their remarkable testimonies. And they give all the glory to God.
Sound like something you’d like to be a part of? The national choir is touring Alberta throughout April.
With eighteen stops on their sixteen-day whirlwind tour, they will perform in twelve Albertan cities. Canadian author and speaker Phil Callaway will join the choir for two dates: April 20 in Leduc, and April 21 in Edmonton.
Can’t make it? Call your local Teen Challenge centre and have them out to your church. Be transformed by their stories of God’s mercy and grace. For more information and tour dates, visit www.teenchallenge.ca/about-us/choir.
